Got a home weather station? A link to one on the net?

Join the Weather Team, a new project from Philadelphia Area Weather and be part of a comprehensive network of neighborhood to neighborhood weather data.

If you have a home weather station, whether it be connected to the Internet or not, we want your data!

Rules for joining:
Your weather station(s) must be located in our serving area (see map to right, or click here).

Your station(s) must include, but not limited, to the following weather readings:

- Temperature
- Humidity/Dewpoint
- Wind Speed/Direction
- Barometric Pressure
- Rainfall Readings

How to join:
Send us an e-mail at phlweather@lycos.com with your name, information on the weather station(s), if it is connected to the Internet (as well as proper URL), and your location (town/township, county, state).

How it works:
Preliminary - We will send you a confirmation e-mail and a special ID number that you must include in every report you send us.

1. If you have a weather station not connected to the Internet, Send us a daily observation including the following:

- High Temperature/time
- Low Temperature/time
- Highest Dewpoint/time
- Lowest Dewpoint/time
- Highest Wind Gust/direction
- Lowest Barometric Pressure/time
- Highest Barometric Pressure/time
- Daily rainfall/precipitation/snowfall

(If you cannot include all of these variables, that is okay. E-mail us for more info.)

2. If you have a weather station that is connected to the Internet, we will:

- Put a link to your URL/station(s).

(Optional) You will provide us with:

- High Temperature/time
- Low Temperature/time
- Highest Dewpoint/time
- Lowest Dewpoint/time
- Highest Wind Gust/direction
- Lowest Barometric Pressure/time
- Highest Barometric Pressure/time
- Daily rainfall/precipitation/snowfall

(If you cannot include all of these variables, that is okay. E-mail us for more info.)

These observations should be sent in an e-mail to us the next day by noon, with the previous days data. Also include your special ID number (for we can identify you - no need to send name/location again).

Restrictions:

- We will not tolerate false reports. If you send us what we consider to be an extremely extravagent report, we will not post it.

- Please only send us data once daily. If you see a mistake in the e-mail you sent to us, you can send another with a correction.

Other Info:

Your weather data will be a powerful source to Philadelphia Area Weather, as well as the users of our growing website. It can help us provide better forecasts, and it can be used as a teaching tool to the users. We are also going to provide the data to the National Weather Service, a government agency that can use the data to further climate data.

If at anytime after subscription to you wish to unsubscribe, you can send us an e-mail at phlweather@lycos.com with 'unsubscribe' in the subject line and your ID number in the message body.

Finally, we never provide any personal information to any other parties. It is kept confidential with us.
